For those looking for a new travel destination while learning a new sport, Davao City could well be your next stop! Nandito ang Deca Wakeboard Park, ang bagong venture ni Sherilyn Reyes. First, the facts: Deca Wakeboard Park is set out to be the biggest wakeboarding park in Southeast Asia, and Sherilyn Reyes (and her family) will be the ones in charge of managing and operating it. The Wakeboard Park is located at Mintal, Davao City and is just a mere 30 minutes away from the airport.
"Deca Wakeboard Park was named after the company na nag-develop," Sherilyn says. "[The] grand opening will be in May, tapos hopefully, tangkilikin ng mga wakeboarders at ng mga gusto pang mag-wakeboard." How did Sherilyn get into this business? Ayon sa aktres, her family is really into wakeboarding. "Tapos itong Wakeboard Park na 'to was built as an amenity to [a] village, instead of 'yung mga golf courses." She continues, "'yung developer na-meet si Paoie, 'yung panganay ko, kasi nagwe-wakeboard kami [and] nag-jo-join ng competition si Pao. Parang nagpaturo yata sa kanila, parang ganoon…Talagang parang itinalaga ng Diyos na ma-offer sa amin itong business na ito." Ngayong involved na siya dito, Sherilyn is rolling out her ideas to ensure the project’s success. "Isa sa mga plano namin ang mag-hold ng international competition. [Tapos] siguro at the end of the year, or early next year, magbubukas din [ng branch] sa Clark [Pampanga]." She also reveals plans to build at least 20 units in time for the launch to accommodate tourists and wakeboard enthusiasts who may opt to stay the night at the park. Wakeboarding sounds fun.
