Miss World 2013 Megan Young has indeed set the standards for national and international pageants.
Miss World Philippines’ exclusive licensee and national director Cory Quirino revealed how she is looking for someone who is as beautiful and brilliant as the StarStruck alumna.
“[The requirement is] at least 5’6” [in height]. Siyempre maganda [at] matalino [na] a la Megan Young. Siya po ang aming peg, ang aming standard ngayon,” she said.
Quirino admitted that she could envision sending a representative who embodies the dalagang Filipina.
“Ang pangarap ko naman ay magpadala ng isang Pilipina na talagang tunay na dalagang Pilipino. 'Yung kayumanggi sana kung meron. Every year kasi 'yung mga nanalo ay mga mestiza,” she shared.
In any case, Quirino said that she is most focused on looking for the dreamers who want to translate their hopes into reality.
“Please join Miss World Philippines. Kung may pangarap kayo maging Miss World Philippines and siyempre maging Miss World, bakit hindi kayo mag-join sa amin? I’m looking for you,” she called out.
The Miss World 2014 pageant will be held in London on December 14. Miss World Philippines aspirants may apply via http://gmanetwork.com/missworld2014 until September 8.
