Aalis na ng Pilipinas sa third week of March si Aicelle Santos at pupunta na sa United Kingdom para simulan ang rehearsals sa Miss Saigon. Ang Kapuso singer-actress ang napili para gumanap bilang bagong Gigi sa UK tour ng nasabing stage musical.

Sa ulat ni Lhar Santiago sa 24 Oras, ibinahagi ni Aicelle na December pa lamang ay alam na niya ang magandang balita.

Aniya, "I am very excited, happy, and overwhelmed po. Actually, December pa lang alam na namin 'yung balita. Hinintay na lang din namin 'yung tamang panahon na i-share ang good news sa ating mga kababayan."

Dagdag pa ng Traffic Diva, pumunta daw siya sa audition nang sabihin sa kanyang ng manager niyang si Carlo Orosa na naghahanap ng bagong Gigi.

"Pumunta naman ako without any expectations. Kung mayroong audition na tingin mo puwede ka, then go for it."

Tatapusin lang daw ni Aicelle ang kanyang stint bilang Elsa sa Himala: Isang Musikal at paghahadaan na niya ang latest role.

"Physically I need to prepare dahil kailangan nating magsuot ng sexy doon. I need to watch Miss Saigon, and kailangan ko siguro manghingi ng payo mula sa aking nanay at tatay, Isay and Robert Seña," kuwento niya.

Excited na rin daw ang kanyang mga kapwa Pinoy sa UK na sina Rachelle Ann Go, Gerald Santos at Red Concepcion.

From Monday 30 April Elana Martin will play 'Ellen' and Aicelle Santos will play 'Gigi' 

Cameron Mackintosh today announced that from Monday April 30 Elana Martin will play 'Ellen' and Aicelle Santos will play 'Gigi' in the current UK tour of his acclaimed production of Boublil and Schonberg's legendary musical MISS SAIGON. They join Red Concepcion as 'The Engineer,' Sooha Kim as 'Kim,' Ashley Gilmour as 'Chris,' Ryan O' Gorman as 'John' and Gerald Santos as 'Thuy'. At certain performances 'The Engineer' is played by Christian Rey Marbella, and 'Kim' is played by Joreen Bautista.

Also new to the cast from 30 April will be Iroy Abesamis, Jonathan Bentley, Devine Cresswell, Ross Lee Fowkes, Yuking Hassebe, Rob Herron, Jade Ma, Samuel Nicholas, Pierce Rogan, Louis Stockil, Joaquin Pedro Valdes, Brad Veitch, Gabriella Williams, Zheng Xi Yong, and Sian Yeo. 

Elana Martin's West End credits include "Travesties" at the Apollo Theatre and "Merrily We Roll Along" at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Her other credits include the UK tours of "39 Steps" and "Scrooge".
 

Aicelle Santos is a recording and concert artist in the Philippines appearing in many concerts as both a solo performer and one third of the successful trio 'La Diva'. As an actress, her theatre credits include "Katy", "Rak Of Aegis" for which she won a Best Actress in a Musical
