My first year, I met students who had unwavering focus. Last year, our candidates had ambitious goals for their future. What will this year’s batch of GMA Network Excellence Award candidates possess? Students, I know the journey to this moment is difficult, but you know that this is what excellence demands of you. So let me say that it will be my privilege to sit down and hear your story. Year after year, I am humbled and amazed at how talented and driven you kids are. The next award-winning documentary, news article, movie, or the world’s greatest invention (even my next cellphone!), can come from you. So thank you for letting me meet you before you go and excel yet again, even beyond excellence. #GMAExcellenceAward

“Having the honor of being chosen again to be able to select the students who have also given their time to reach a certain level of excellence [that] not many can attain, I’m very, very excited to see the students, to hear their story, and their journey to excellence,” kuwento ng aktor sa panayam ni Lhar Santiago sa Unang Hirit pagkatapos niyang i-renew ang kanyang kontrata.

It takes a lot of time, a lot of discipline, [and] a lot of sacrifices.”
