In the third installment of her 'This is Philippines' video series, Catriona Gray showcases the colors and beauty of Mindanao.
Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray showcased the unique spirituality and traditions of Mindanao in her latest video.
The video shows Catriona clad in a native dress while on a boat ride. Later on, she explores the mystic lands of Mindanao.
She said, “I've always had this certain reverence for Mindanao. I've always wanted to go and experience the culture first-hand because it's somewhere I've never been to before, and to see that culture and tradition passed down and has been kept to this day in such good condition…it makes me feel really hopeful.”
Catriona also performed folk dance and documented natives weaving the traditional cloth T'nalak.
“I really admire how the people there are very connected to nature. They draw all their inspiration and spirituality from nature,” she shared.
The beauty queen also made a promise to her newfound friends in Mindanao. “I will definitely take pride in showcasing your culture to the international stage. Salamat po.”
