Centerstage March 1 episode

Find out why 'Centerstage''s March 1 episode trended on social media.

Centerstage's March 1 episode trended on Twitter as the world-class yet friendly competition showcased powerful performances from a new set of contestants.

The show featured talents of young performers Rain Barquin, Carren Frederiksen, Alexa Laude and Ken Mangua.

In the end, Caloocan City pride Rain was hailed as the Ultimate Challenger who went up against the two-time defending champion Hargie Ganza.

During their face-off, Hargie failed to head straight to the finals as Rain took her spot at the Ultimate Centerstage.

Hargie, on the other hand, got emotional over the result. Centerstage judges Pops Fernandez, Aicelle Santos, and Mel Villena hugged and comforted her as she stepped down from her throne.

“Sobra kaming na-impress all throughout the journey but this is not the end for you. This is not the end for you. Naniniwala kami do'n,” Centerstage host Alden Richards said to Hargie.

"Something out there after this show is waiting for you, Hargie, and you will be surprised kung ano 'yun. You just have to keep on singing, pursuing your passion. Maraming salamat,” he added.

As Team Centerstage sent Hargie for her final bow, they also welcomed the new Defending Bida Rain Barquin on the Ultimate Centerstage.

Congratulations, Rain!
