“Change is here!” Then Davao City Mayor Rodrigo “Digong” Duterte was sworn into office as the 16th President of the Philippines together with his family at Malacañan Palace in Manila yesterday, June 30.
Due to the overwhelming amount of support they received at the inauguration, his children Sara and Paolo posted a video greeting to thank their family’s supporters.
Sara, Digong’s first-born, resumed her father’s position as the Davao City Mayor while present at the oath-taking. “Thank you sa suporta nila sa ating President, and I hope you will continue to support our President for the next six years,” she said.

Paolo who was also able to take part in the ceremony thanked the Filipinos for the warm welcome, “Maraming salamat po sa suporta ninyo sa ating President Rody Duterte.”
He hopes that the citizens of the Philippines will be one with his father to advocate change, “Patuloy po sana nating ipagdarasal na makamit ng Pilipinas ang tunay na pagbabago.”
