Who would’ve thought that an 18-year-old girl with a Christian faith who took part in a three-week mission in the Philippines would soon become a popular Hollywood star?
Flashback to 20 years ago, the 'Ant-Man and the Wasp' super heroine Evangeline Lilly traveled and lived in Palawan.
She recalled in an interview with Unang Hirit host Lyn Ching, “My best memories for being there are the moment in the morning when I would wake up. I remember the sounds and smells, and there was this beautiful, peaceful, quiet still time in the morning.”
Up until now, the American actress would still imagine her mornings just like when she was in the islands, “Some days, I would still have mornings when I wake up, and I’d be brushing my teeth, [I’d] be transported back to those mornings in the Philippines, and I can’t even put my finger what it is, but it was so special.”
Aside from being a devoted Christian, Evangeline is an advocate of humanitarian causes and global development, especially female empowerment which is evident in her Marvel character, that women too, can save the world.
