Eric Bauza

Eric said working with basketball superstar LeBron James is a “dream come true.”

Voice actor Eric Bauza was in full character - his voice, for that matter - during his guesting at the LIT Entertainment News.

The Filipino-Canadian talent, who is voicing Bugs Bunny and other Looney Tunes characters in the Space Jam sequel gamely read celebrity tweets in cartoon character voices.

Eric first read a tweet by Ryan Reynolds as Daffy Duck, Katy Perry as Marvin the Martian, Paris Hilton as Woody Woodpecker, and Lil Nas X as Tweety.

He also did a Bugs Bunny impersonation in the end upon the request of co-host Sloane Glass to end the show.

"It comes down to good acting whether or not you can do an imitation of someone is one thing but you really have to be able to act like the character and then the voice will come later - the believability,” Eric said when asked about his top tip for doing impressions.

“Even though these are cartoon characters we're talking about, Bugs Bunny, you care so much about him, Mel Blanc [the original voice actor for many Looney Tunes characters] poured his heart and soul into this character and I think that is why we as fans still love him 80 years later.”

Eric was also asked about his upcoming movie Space Jam: A New Legacy starring National Basketball Association (NBA) superstar and Los Angeles Lakers main man, LeBron James.

Aside from Bugs Bunny, Eric will also lend his voice to give life to the characters of Daffy Duck, Marvin the Martian, Tweety, and Pepe Le Pew.

“I can finally talk about it because it's been officially announced in the press releases for the film that I'm a voice in the movie,” said Eric, who for months neither confirmed nor denied the rumor pending the official announcement from Warner Bros.

“Working with LeBron is like a dream come true,” Eric continued.

“I'm a huge basketball fan [and] I have forgiven him for sweeping the [Toronto] Raptors two years in a row. That's beyond us now,” joked Eric, pertaining to LeBron, who was then playing for the Cleveland Cavaliers, beating Toronto in the playoffs in 2017 and 2018.

On a more serious note, Eric believes that if there's one NBA superstar worthy to resurrect the Space Jam franchise, it's definitely LeBron James.

“I truly believe that the original fans of Space Jam with Michael Jordan are gonna be blown away by what LeBron the rest of the filmmaking team has brought with these characters - it's amazing,” mentioned Eric.

“And you're talking about a diehard fan that grew up watching the original in 1996.”
