Through the leadership of Mayor Vico Sotto, Pasig City has deployed drones to curb the spread of COVID-19. But how does this technology really work in disinfecting the city?

In a video uploaded on the Batak Facebook page, netizens are given a peek at how Pasig City is operating drones to disinfect the city.

Misting Drone Team Leader Ruel Tria, together with his team from the Pasig City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and volunteer-residents, is at the frontline of this innovative effort to fight the new coronavirus. Their aim is to disinfect the whole city while giving a higher priority to areas with more prevalent cases of infection.

According to him, each drone can carry up to 10 liters of disinfecting solution and can cover an approximate distance of 300 meters.

The group is also strict in practicing safety protocols, like the proper wearing of personal protective equipment, for the misting drone pilots.
