Mikael Daez and Megan Young dish out useful tips on how to survive long-haul flights. Read on!

In Mikael Daez's latest YouTube vlog, he and Megan Young booked a trip to New York on a whim, four hours before the actual flight! They flew there to visit Megan's mom who's living in Connecticut.

But before the two actually got to New York, they had to endure a three-hour flight from Manila to Hong Kong and another 15 from Hong Kong to JFK International Airport for a total of 18 hours.

Mikael and Megan shared a few tips on how to survive the longest flight of their lives.

1. Throat spray saves the day

Dry airplane air can often cause various health hazards that affect the throat, sinuses, and the respiratory system in general, especially after being exposed to it on a 15-hour flight. Fortunately, Mikael had his trusty Kamillosan throat spray on hand to soothe and relieve his throat. It can also be used in various conditions such as a dry, sore throat, mouth sores, gingivitis, and more.

2. Plane seat lifehack

For couples who love to travel like Mikael and Megan, the two shared a lifehack in securing more space aboard the plane. The trick is to book a seat that's one seat apart because it's highly likely that no one would take the seat in between. Potentially, you could have the three seats all for yourselves.

3. Knock yourselves out

If you have trouble falling asleep, especially on long flights, taking Melatonin pills might just do the trick. Melatonin pills are supplements that can aid in sleeping disorders and fixing jet lag.

4. Pack your snacks

Based on Mikael and Megan's experience during their 15-hour flight, they were only served two meals, one for lunch and one for dinner. To keep from going hungry and to save a bit of money from buying snacks in the plane, the two suggest packing snacks such as crackers and biscuits.
