The film follows the story of Imelda's contribution during former President Ferdinand Marcos's presidency in 1965 until 1986.

It has also tackled the former first lady's efforts in bringing his son, Ferdinand "Bongbong" Romualdez Marcos Jr., to the highest position in the country.

The @culturalcenterph commemorated its 50th year as the cultural heart of Filipino art in all its forms. We celebrated it with a tribute to the woman who had this vision for Filipino artistry and was the driving force behind the creation of the CCP, our mother Imelda Marcos. The CCP was the first Institute of its kind in the developing world. Never were our artists so well supported by government before or since. Without Imelda Marcos' vision and love of Filipino artists and our culture, none of this would have come into existence. Ipagmalaki ang kulturang #Pinoy sa mundo!

Overall, the film is about the in-depth documentary of the legacy left behind by the Marcos's regime, the dynasty that lasted for more than two decades.

“The King Maker” was directed by the Emmy-winning director Lauren Greenfield.
