Go Iya!
Many were surprised when Chika Minute host Iya Villania announced on Easter Sunday that she and husband Drew Arellano are expecting their first child. More so, many went to wondering why her baby bump seems to be unnoticeable and that she continues exercising despite being in the second trimester of her pregnancy.

In an Instagram post, Iya revealed that expectant mothers are not really prohibited from doing exercises. In fact, it brings along some benefits.
“#DidYouKnow that EXERCISE reduces the change of having a caesarean [delivery] by 75%,” she shared.
Iya is seen engaged in core training with her fitness buddy Hannah Olives. According to her post, she has been doing the regimen for the past six years.
She noted, “Pregnancy is definitely not the time to try and hit new fitness goals but rather about maintenance! If your body was used to an exercise prior to pregnancy then it will be safe to carry on (adjusting intensity accordingly) as long as your body says it’s still okay and your doctor approves.”

Iya also advised that expectant moms should still be sensitive and listen to their bodies. She encourages them, saying, “Cheers to active mommas out there!”
