Aniya, "'Di ko alam, ang nagsabi lang ['yung] tatay niya sa'kin. Gusto akong i-surprise. Tapos 'nung nalaman ko sa tatay niya, parang ako 'yung sumali. Aligaga ako, ako 'yung kinakabahan kasi 'di ko nakita 'yung preparation niya."

Gayunpaman, kahit hindi muna ito sinabi sa kanya ni Michelle, alam ni Melanie na hindi sasali ang kanyang anak sa 'Miss World Philippines 2019' kung hindi ito handa.
"Sinabi ko last year, 'Anak, kung hindi ka prepared, never join. You have to be mentally, physically, emotionally prepared. Kasi marami diyang na hindi mo expected na mangyayari. You cannot please everyone but then give your best. Be sincere, be yourself,'" kuwento ng dating beauty queen.
