Sa isang Facebook Live event ng Miss Universe, tinanong ang reigning Miss Universe na si Pia Wurtzbach kung may potential ba ang Miss Universe 2016 candidate ng Pilipinas na si Maxine Medina.

Mabilis ang naging tugon ni Pia.  "Of course! I think she's been training very well. She'll do very well at Miss Universe. She's always been a strong contender and I can't wait to see her performance for the final night. And she has like the whole country backing her up so she'll do just fine.

Gaganapin ang Miss Universe sa bansa sa darating na January 30, sa Mall of Asia Arena.

Si Pia, excited na! "I'm very excited for the competition because it's happening, of course, in the Philippines, and it's something that I've always wanted to see, and I am glad that it's happening during my reign so I get to turn over my crown there. I may not have had a first walk but at least I'll have a nice final walk and I am excited for that. Can't reveal any details about the gown yet because I wanna keep it a surprise."
