Solenn Heussaff said that Bukidnon is one of her favorite destinations in the country. The province has become special to her that's why she chose its residents to benefit from the earnings of her painting inspired by the Talaandig, one of the seven local tribes.
Last December, Solenn went to Bukidnon to give donations and attend the 4th Sacred Customaru Compact Celebration of Unity and Peace. In that visit she gifted a painting and had an immersion to experience their culture. In the recent blog post in Solenn.ph, Solenn described why exploring Bukidnon became her favorite way to connect to different types of people and learn about their art.

She said, “I would say that my most favorite part of exploring Bukidnon is learning, through its people, how simple life really is. I love how the people are authentically themselves and they’re not afraid to express who they are. They have their own kind of art when it comes to their fabrics and textiles, and this is actually what inspires me to paint—seeing so many colors that just naturally go together. They don’t even think about it, they don’t try hard.
“Visiting this place always makes me fall in love with the Philippines. It allows me to get in touch with my roots and helps me see the beauty in living simply, “ Solenn added.
