On September 10, online music show Spotlight Music Sessions featured singer-songwriter Antoinette Bernal Brillantes a.k.a Toni B, as she performed her own song "Hold On."
Even though she didn't grow up in the Philippines, Toni B is no stranger to the local music scene, having performed in local watering holes like SaGuijo and in big festivals like Fete de la Musique PH.
"We all need a reminder that we've got one another through this wonderfully messy and emotional experience we call life. And also the whole being in this never-ending lockdown," said Toni B as she reflects on the meaning behind her song.
"Something a little more chill, and something a little more Toni B," she added.
Last September 3, Toni B also performed her song "Electrified." In this song, Toni B encourages her listeners to be brave and not to lose hope in the chaos of life.
Toni B grew up classically trained in violin but ended up teaching herself the guitar, the viola, and the ukulele.
