The Survival Guide Newsmakers host Winnie Monsod

Winnie Monsod shared interesting anecdotes from her life as she marveled at her digitally colorized old photos.

New Normal: The Survival Guide series Newsmakers host Winnie Monsod was completely in awe with how digitally colorizing her old photos brought them to life.

She and her husband Atty. Christian Monsod were shown a few of their old photos, including a few from their wedding, which have been digitally colorized.

This means that their old photos were scanned then color was added using a computer software.

The first photo was from their wedding in 1961.

"Wow, how nice! Ibibigay mo sa akin ito ha? What a fantastic change!" says Tita Winnie.

She also revealed that Atty. Christian was late to their wedding.

"[I was late] because my car was stolen. When I woke up in the morning, I looked out the window and my car was not there," he explains.

"I was fuming! Kasi 20 minutes late, ano ba? Baka, ayaw na niya," she recalls.

Another special photo for Tita Winnie was taken for a school pageant of sorts.

"At that time in the University of the Philippines, there was a Lakambini contest. That was for juniors. [It was for students] who are in their junior year and they were supposed to be chosen for their beauty and their brains. I happened to be chosen for that year. That was 1958," she shared.

"Parang si Eva Peron. When this picture was taken, we were not together yet. We were best friends," Atty. Christian shares.

However, Tita Winnie noted that the dress she was wearing was actually lemon yellow and not white.

New Normal: The Survival Guide series Newsmakers once again colorized the photo to reflect the correct dress color.

"I have never seen a colored version of those pictures. You relive the event more than you can relive it when it is in black and white. Iyan ang tinatawag nilang "in living color." I really appreciate that," she says.

Watch Tita Winnie and Atty. Christian react to their digitally colorized photos in the video above from from New Normal: The Survival Guide series Newsmakers.
