Chris Tiu and Clarisse Ong

Have you ever done an annual goal setting session with your spouse? Check out 'iBilib' host Chris Tiu's helpful advice to couples in this article.

Arguments occur in every relationship--they're normal, actually--but when they happen frequently, that's not healthy anymore.

When it comes to couple conflicts, former PBA cager and iBilib host Chris Tiu has a helpful advice in minimizing conflict between couples.

In a lengthy post via Instagram, Chris shared that he and wife Clarisse Ong have recently finished their annual goal setting session.

Chris and Clarisse have been married for more than seven years already--they tied the knot in Vancouver, Canada in September 2013. The couple has two daughters, Amanda Claire and Mari Diana.

The Kapuso host explained how an annual goal setting session would help couples in the long run.

He posted, “Our annual goal setting session. For 2021, we are a little late and couldn't go out of the city but still a productive one. Just thought of sharing the template we used to align and understand each other's goals as a couple and as individuals.

Basically this is how it goes:

1) List our common values / principles
2) State audacious dreams
3) Long term goals
4) Set 3-year goals
5) Breakdown this year's goals
6) Design winning habits
7) Financial goals, budgets, allocations

Chris added, “Doing this yearly has helped us support each other better and somewhat minimize conflict... I think. Worth a try for married couples. Hehe”

Retirement in 2019

Chris Tiu has been enjoying his life since retiring from professional basketball in 2019.

The former Rain or Shine Elasto Painter cager posted this on Twitter, when he announced his retirement.

“My heartfelt gratitude to every person who has been part of my basketball journey!! Most especially to our Lord who makes all things possible. It's now time to move on. My heart is full”

Recently there were other several high-profile PBA stars who have decided to hang up their jersey, including Ranidel de Ocampo, Peter June Simon, and Harvey Carey.

Last September 2020, Simon revealed that he wanted to move on from playing to focus on his wife, Jehza Huelar, who is pregnant with their first child.

He said, “Binigay ko 'yung 17 years ng buhay ko sa PBA, sa Magnolia Hotshots, at sa lahat ng fans but now it's time to focus on my family. My wife is pregnant and gusto ko magkasama kami as we start a family.”
