'Dear Friend' started featuring last Sunday one story over the course of two months. But before this new format even began taping, iGMA got in touch with hosts Jolina and Marvin to talk about its future and what else they want to see on the show. Read on to see what they have to say. Text by Jason John S. Lim. Photos by Mitch S. Mauricio. Bulong ng Puso is the very first story Dear Friend will feature for eight consecutive episodes, starting last January 18. Kinausap ng iGMA ang hosts na sina Jolina Magdangal at Marvin Agustin tungkol dito, and they say na it's just an experiment, para laging may bagong nakikita ang viewers. stars
"'Yung mga ganito kasing klaseng show, 'yung ganitong concept, tingin ko okay siyang tumagal," Jolina explains. Kailangan ever-changing ang format ng program para may inaabangang kakaiba ang fans from time to time. "Chinese-Filipino [relationship], nagkaroon na," she says, referring to the episode that featured Dennis Trillo and Heart Evangelista.
He reveals na minsan daw, nakakatanggap sila ng stories na kailangan i-tone down when they dramatize it, "for the sake of censorship." Pero it is with these stories na "natutuwa kami [at nasasabing] 'Wow ang ganda nitong bagong istoryang ito!'" Pero, she reaffirms na Dear Friend is not just for problematic love stories. "Basta problema, [ipadala lang nila]." Ano pa ang gusto ng dalawang hosts for the future of Dear Friend? Marami pang mga thoughts sina Marvin at Jolina when it comes to stories they would like to be featured. And you can read their thoughts through their daily text messages sa kanilang mga Fanatxt subscribers! Just text JOLINA or MARVIN to 4627 for all telcos.
