This weekend, Daryl Celis, Gretchen Espina, Kid Camaya, Jayann Bautista and Ram Chaves will move on to the last leg of the competition. As finalists perform their song of choice, the theme is aptly called “My Greatest Idol Performance.”
Five remain
Pinoy Idol host Raymond Gutierrez announced a crucial twist in the singing competition during last week’s elimination night. “We are officially announcing that on August 17, it will be a three-way fight. Ibig sabihin ang matitirang top three ang magtatagisan ng galing on the finals night.”

This made the hopefuls even more nervous. Knowing that their performance tonight may be their last, the top five have to keep in mind that what they do on the Idol stage later can make or break their bid for the title. Also, predictions from everywhere are growing as who among the finalists would have a shot at the title.
“Kailangan kong maging matalino specially in terms of song choice kasi I think that is the reason why I am still here…I’ve really picked the good songs for me. I am going to do my best this Saturday…and hopefully everybody would like it, “says Ram Chaves in interview with iGMA.
Kid Camaya on the other hand makes an appeal to his loyal supporters: “It is up to you to decide if you are really going to walk me home. I hope ‘yung lahat ng naniniwala pa sa akin and nare-realize nila na ako ang unang
Pinoy Idol for them, will be with me until the end.”
Undoubtedly, the countdown to the intense finale has begun and the viewers have the power to decide who will get to be our first ever
Pinoy Idol.
The judges’ last words

Following the previous elimination and Raymond’s announcement about the three-way fight, the judges give their take on the developments of the show.
The
Terror Juror, Mr. Wyngard Tracy has this to say to the top five.
“Ito na ‘yun. They have to give their best. Wala na, no other time, no other way. This is it,” says straight-to-the-point judge. He also makes this appeal to everybody: “Hanggang ngayon nakikiusap ako sa inyo, vote wisely! Sa natitirang lima, piliin na natin 'yung pinaka okay, 'yung pinaka magaling kasi ho nakasalalay ang integridad nating lahat dito. Lalaban ang
Pinoy Idol sa
Asian Idol.”
Jolina Magdangal, on the other hand shares her expectations with the remaining Idol hopefuls.

Will the top five be able to face up to the judges’ challenge? Don’t miss the final gala and elimination nights, happening this weekend at the Centerstage of SM Mall of Asia. You can also catch it on GMA this Saturday, right after
Pinoy Records and tomorrow right after
