Excited, flattered and pressured all at the same time, Gardo said “masarap laruin 'yung character, kaya marami rin akong ginawang (revisions sa role) para hindi ma-duplicate 'yung portrayal.” The father of Jojo (Jeremy Marquez), Rita (Iwa Moto) and Chona (Hazel Ann Mendoza), Pablo is a notorious cheat who is willing to do anything for his family’s sake; and that includes putting the lives of others, especially that of Stan Illustre (Dennis Trillo) and Catherine Clemente (Nadine Samonte ), at stake. Wicked as Pablo may be, however, Gardo still sees a positive light in his character. He justified Pablo’s shrewdness as something essential because “kaya lang siya nagiging sakim kasi sa story wala namang na-establish na nanay eh, so 'yung sa akin, kahit sakim ako at gahaman, 'yung kapakanan ng pa rin ng mga anako ko 'yung iniisip ko.” He added, “Nakikita ko na good 'yung pagiging tatay niya (kasi) parang barkada lang niya 'yung mga anak niya.” Justice Served starsWith only two days before the show’s finale, Gardo assured the viewers a very satisfactory ending. He noted that “after all the bad things that I’ve done, makikita ng mga sumubaybay kung papaano wawakasan 'yung kasamaan niya, kung papaano magbabalik sa normal 'yung buhay ng mga naapektuhan niya.” “I’m sure magugustuhan ninyo 'yung pinaghirapan na ending and mabibigyang hustisya 'yung mga kamaliang ginawa ni Pablo” he shared. Gardo is relieved to know that his performance has elicited the reaction he wanted from the show’s viewership. “Before, hindi ko ine-expect na ganoon 'yung magiging (reaction nila), na parang may nagagalit, may natutuwa” he explained. “Nakakataba ng puso kasi kahit paglabas ng bansa like U.S., Saudi (at) Japan, may feedback sila” he ends, grinning.
