And after months of preparation GMA Network and GMA Entertainment Group will showcase another primetime soap with a compelling narrative and filled with action-packed moments that will make your weeknight viewing a lot more interesting.
The Master Cutter follows the story of Anthony “Atoy” Padua, a highly skilled Scout Ranger who decided to have a quiet life as a tailor while secretly working as a man-hunter and tracker-for-hire. Playing the lead role in this GMA Prime project is the multifaceted actor Dingdong Dantes.

Viewers and fans are raring to see the acting prowess of the one and only Dingdong Dantes on primetime.
Dong's last soap in the primetime block was Royal Blood (2023) together with Megan Young, Mikael Daez, Lianne Valentin, and Rhian Ramos.
This comeback of Dingdong Dantes via The Master Cutter is worth the wait, since he made sure to deliver a quality program to the audience ̶̶̶ our boss.
In an interview, the Kapuso actor expressed his appreciation to his home network for their incredible support for this project.
“Laking pasasalamat ko rin sa producers talaga sa GMA, kasi alam naman natin kung gaano kahirap gumawa ng mga ganitong programa ngayon. Actually, buong industriya natin alam natin may mga challenges. And yet, all out sila sa commitment nila na magpakita ng ganitong klaseng show sa ganitong magnitude,” Dingdong said.
Fight scenes are top-notch
Members of the entertainment press, content creators, and VIPs were treated to an exclusive screening of the first few episodes of The Master Cutter during the grand media conference on May 5.
Many were impressed that GMA-7 nailed the action sequences and raised the bar that the show could even match those shows produced abroad in terms of quality.
According to Direk Dominic Zapata, it was their intention that this primetime series is something Filipinos can be proud of, since it will be streamed on Southeast Asia via Netflix.
Dominic told the press, “Siyempre, iniisip din namin 'di ba ipapalabas tayo sa Southeast Asia, pakilala naman 'yung mga Pilipino 'di ba. We want to be able to do something that Pinoys can also be proud of.”
Chemistry of the cast
The key to any successful show is the chemistry among the cast and The Master Cutter series is no exception.
Watching the soap every weeknight, you would see the camaraderie off cam translate to the beautiful performance and interaction of the cast on cam.
Talking about her love for her co-stars, Max Collins shared that they are working well because of the leadership of Dingdong Dantes and Direk Dominic Zapata.
“We are a team, we collaborated. And we had great leaders, Direk Dom [Dominic Zapata], Dingdong [Dantes]. We have amazing, amazing leaders.”
Emotionally captivating storylines
The Master Cutter offers far more than explosive gun fights and thrilling action sequences. Viewers will also be hooked on the emotional and socially relevant storylines that the primetime soap will tackle in the next few episodes.
Versatile actress Jo Berry discussed a bit of one of the engaging story arcs featuring the struggles faced by little people.
She explained, “Sobrang saya ko, kasi alam ko ngayon pa lang magagawa sa GMA. Ngayon pa lang, ipapakita na may ganun struggle talaga na nangyayari sa totoong buhay ng little people. Sa sobrang saya ko na naging part ako ng storytelling ng ganun klaseng nangyayari talaga sa lipunan natin.”
