Alternative rock band Wickermoss sang their latest single 'Babalik' on Spotlight Music Sessions on Friday, December 1.

In their interview with GMANetwork.com, Reiman Gesmundo, the band's guitarist, shared that he wrote the song during the pandemic.

“Sumali ako sa isang online songwriting workshop, pero para maiba naman, naisip ko naman na 'yung kanta e hindi 'yung sa typical love song,” he shared.

He continued, “'Yung emosyon naman na nararamdaman ng isang taong nasaktan ng grabe, tapos parang to the point na ang hinihiling niya is maramdaman nung other person 'yung lahat ng nararamdaman niya.”

Aside from Reiman, the other band members are Allen Lucas on Vocals and acoustic guitar, Roger Alcantara on bass, Karmi Santiago on drums, and Rigil Borromeoon on lead guitars.

The band's first album, 'Buwan,' was released by AltG Records in 2019 and recently, Wickermoss signed a contract under the music label and will continue to release songs.

When asked how the journey with the label has been since they signed, Roger said, “It's the journey naman, not the destination.”

For him, getting back into the label feels like a fresh start because the music scene was different back then from what it is now.

“Pero 'yun nga, dahil nandiyaan naman lagi 'yung label behind your back, gina-guide naman kayo, so it's a journey na talagang kasama namin sila. Pare-pareho kaming nangangapa ngayon sa scene e pero masaya naman,” he shared.

Roger added, “Sabi ko nga, it's the journey naman, not the destination and kung masarap naman 'yung kasama mo sa biyahe, masarap talaga 'yung patutunguhan mo, definitely.”
