Wil and Haley Dasovich with Zac and Dylan Efron

Fil-Am vlogger Wil Dasovich on his childhood with the Efron brothers: "Me and Dylan were basically just the audience eating popcorn while Zac and Haley would sing and dance in front of our families."

If you are a follower of Wil Dasovich, you probably have noticed his closeness to the Efron brothers, Dylan and Zac.

Mind you, they are more than acquaintances. In fact, they are childhood friends who share so many memories together.

On his April 11 podcast titled SUPERHUMAN with Wil Dasovich, the Wil and his sister, fellow vlogger Haley Dasovich, recalled what it's like to grow up with the Efron brothers featuring the younger Efron, Dylan.

According to Wil, their families have been friends since they were kids. Their dads were classmates at a maritime academy.

During their childhood, Haley recalled how Wil and Dylan used to be the "peanut gallery" (top gallery seating in a theater), while she and Zac perform in front of the family.

Wil recounted, "When we do these hangouts, our families just get together.

"Zac would like to do a performance. He would sing, he would dance, and we always say this as kids, 'he's so talented, he's gonna get far.' We always said that.

"My parents, I don't know if they are being competitive or if it's a Filipino thing, but my mom says, 'Hey Haley, your turn, do something' and she would force my sister to sing, dance in front of us."

Wil continued, "Me and Dylan were basically just the audience eating popcorn while Zac and Haley would sing and dance in front of our families."

Wil and Dylan got along easily because, the Fil-Am vlogger said, they share the same bond as their dads.

Talking to Dylan, Wil shared, "Your dad in that relationship is the more reserved one, my dad is the wild and crazy one.

"And I think in our relationship, maybe it's the same. I guess I'm more likely to do crazier stuff, risky stuff, and you are more reserved and you think about, you know, you might analyze the situation -- does this gonna benefit me? Is this healthy? Is this right? Could we go to jail?"

Wil then said with excitement, "I'm just like let's just go and do it. It's a great story."

When you visit Dylan's social media accounts, you would say that he is a natural-born thrill seeker, but it's the other way around.

In fact, between him and Wil, Dylan is the less spontaneous one.

Wil recounted the time they were cliff jumping in Mexico. He said, "The only reason he did the jump was because I did the jump. Me and Dylan since we were kids, we always compete.

"It's a weird ego thing between us. We always have to one up each other and he would rather risk his life and die rather than hearing me tell him that he's a baby because he wouldn't do that jump.

"It's not that he's fearless, it's that he is just competitive."

Wil, Haley, and Dylan then talked about Zac, whom they described as "peppy and willing to do something," before he became famous.

Dylan said, "I've been looking up to him since I was four. You look up to your older siblings like copy them. It's like nothing's changed 'cause you're famous."

Wil and Dylan would describe Zac and Haley as the cooler and more confident ones because they are older than them.

Wil said, "Me and Dylan would do snowball fights or build a fort while Haley and Zac always had a feeling they were too cool.

"We were like young pre-teens and we were having way more fun than Haley and Zac who are like, whatever they are doing, being cool and not having fun, just being inside."

After all, Wil, Haley, and Dylan are very much thankful that they enjoyed their childhood making snowballs, playing hide and seek, tag, and wrestling fights, and catching crawdads before the cellphone era, thanks to their parents.

Haley said, "It's really interesting that we grew up in a time when we did not have phones 'til we were teens.

"We were like the last generations that had parents who were kinda like 'go outside, don't come back until it's dark or make sure you'll come back for dinner.'

"It's like an idyllic way of family life from the '50s. We were the last generation that felt what it was like to grow up without having something to look at your phones all the time."

Wil's influence to Dylan

Growing up together, Dylan appreciates the friendship he has with Wil now. Now that they are more mature, they know exactly what they want to do in life.

Dylan got rid of his competitiveness and does not mind if his friends excels better than him.

"Now I'm just having the most fun, I love being the worst at something, I love how my friends are better than me and helping me. I have no ego anymore."

Dylan proved there's no point in competing and he saw it in Wil when he started vlogging.

The newbie content creator told Wil, "I think you're good at including people in what you do, it's impressive 'cause I think there a lot of people get that bag of competitiveness like, oh my gosh, my friends have more followers than me or like they don't have a lot of followers.

"It's just negative cr*p like that. If my channel does not have followers, we can both do something together and how can we both benefit. I think you're great at that."

To support his point of view, Wil then explained, "I never look at vlogging as competition or whatsoever because no matter how great one person does, it does not make you any less. And if anything, the vlog squad mentality is we rise by lifting others so by building up my brother, Daniel Marsh, and all the other vloggers that we influenced to begin.

"We all let each other up because people like certain different personalities. But in the end, we come back as a group and I think that was building each other the most.

"It is the exact opposite of crab mentality. I guess the goal is building your own tower as high as possible without knocking down others doesn't make your tower any higher."
