GMA-7 brings to viewers the grand battle of love against ambition in this remake of one of Lino Brocka's movie masterpieces, "Gumapang Ka sa Lusak."
GMA Network, in line with the celebration of its 60th anniversary, brings to light another riveting afternoon series starting February 8 with the adaptation of one of Lino Brocka's movie masterpieces -- the award-winning film "Gumapang Ka sa Lusak." Sine Novela presents Gumapang Ka sa Lusak features an enviable cast of dramatic artists led by critically acclaimed drama actor Dennis Trillo and drama princess Jennylyn Mercado. Both Kapuso artist have already starred in their respective top-rating Sine Novela installments. Dennis has headlined the International Emmy-nominated Magdusa Ka, as well as the much-loved Kung Mahawi Man ang Ulap while Jennylyn has starred in the most-anticipated Paano ba ang Mangarap?. Now, the two are reunited as love team partners after three years in Gumapang Ka sa Lusak, their first Sine Novela together. The film Gumapang Ka sa Lusak was one of the most critically-acclaimed masterpieces in the 90's that reaped numerous awards including: best director, best screenplay and best picture in various film organizations such as Film Academy of the Philippines (FAP), Filipino Academy of Movie Arts and Sciences (FAMAS) and Gawad Urian. The movie was directed by the multi-awarded filmmaker Lino Brocka and created by Ricky Lee; and featured a powerhouse cast led by Dina Bonnevie, Christopher de Leon, Charo Santos and Eddie Garcia. Today, the film-turned-afternoon series will keep the viewers' glued on television with its gripping drama about ambition, money and power. In addition to Dennis and Jennylyn, Sine Novela presents Gumapang Ka sa Lusak will also star respected and seasoned artists like Sandy Andolong, Al Tantay, Lotlot de Leon, Julio Diza, Glydel Mercado, Ronnie Lazaro, Luz Valdez, Michael Sandico and Patricia Ysmael; while featuring some of GMA-7's homegrown stars like Ryza Cenon, Mart Escudero, Vaness del Moral, Prince Stefan and Shaun Rodriguez.
