
American actor Willem Dafoe felt honored as he received his very own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame last January 8 (EST).
In the category of Motion Pictures, Willem was awarded with the 2,768th star and hailed as the first artist to receive the award this 2024.
The event was hosted by iHeart Media personality and Walk of Famer, Ellen K, together with guest speakers Patricia Arquette and Pedro Pascal.
In a speech of Pascal, he praised the awarded actor as he called him "The greatest actor in our lifetime."
The producer of the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Ana Martinez, also described Willem Dafoe as a talented and versatile actor who'sa prominent figure in the film industry.
She added, "He has captivated audiences with his remarkable performances, often portraying characters with a unique intensity and complexity.”
Other famous celebrities like Mark Ruffalo,Guillermo Del Toro, and Camila Morrone supported the actor as they also attended the event.
In his legendary career of over 40 years (and still counting), Willem already made more than 100 films and was nominated in four Oscar categories. He also won several awards in New York Film Critics Circle and Astra Film Awards.
The American actor is respected for bringing versatility and boldness to some of his most iconic films. His career started to bloom with his amazing performance as a vicious counterfeiter in 1985's To Live and Die in L.A. Since then, he worked in different projects like The Lighthouse, John Wick, Finding Nemo, The Boondock Saints, Togo, Spider-Man (2002, 2004,2021), The Legend of Ochi, Pet Shop Days, Gonzo Girl, Nosferatu, and Poor Things.
Besides being in the film industry, Willem is also one of the founding members of the New York experimental theater troupe, The Wooster Group. From 1977 to 2005, Willem produced and acted on stage with the theater group and worked with other famous stars like Richard Foreman (Idiot Savant), Robert Wilson (The Life & Death of Marina Abramovic and The Old Woman), and Marina Abramovic (7 Deaths of Maria Callas).
