South Korean news outlet X Sports News reports that Yoon has began to prepare his solo album in earnest after WINNER's group activities were put on pause due to the mandatory military enlistment of members Jinu and Hoony.
Yoon is the man behind many of the group's hit songs such as "Really Really," "Island," and "Everyday."
Before debuting with WINNER in 2014, Yoon has already debuted as a solo singer in 2013 with a song called "It Rains."
This was after he participated in the talent competition Superstar K2. He has also released the singles "Wild and Young" and "Stealer."
Yoon recently became a full member of the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), a non-profit copyright collective which aims to protect the intellectual property rights of music copyright holders while ensuring ease of use for listeners.
He was among the 25 junior members chosen by KOMCA's board of directors to be promoted as full members this year.
Yoon also recently participated in popular singing competition King of Masked Singer where he emerged as the youngest Masked King in the history of the show. He is also the first idol to have six consecutive victories in the show.
In the King of Masked Singer, experienced singers wear masks to conceal their identity to eliminate factors like popularity, career, and age that could lead to a more favorable votes for themselves.
"That was a great breakthrough. I think in a way, it paved a new road for me," he recalls of his experience in the show.
Yoon was also recently part of part of time-bending drama thriller series, Kairos.
He also recently shot an online travel reality show called Bell Boys with fellow WINNER member Mino.
