Winwyn Marquez remarked, “Let's just help each other instead of arguing about politics.”

Kapuso actress and host Winwyn Marquez urged her followers to help their respective communities amid the continuous spike of the coronavirus in the country.

On Twitter, the former beauty queen recently received a tirade of comments after she shared her dismay towards President Rodrigo Duterte's address last April 1st.

She wrote, “Why are some people telling me na 'wag makisali? Excuse me lang ha, pero ang bottom line sa lahat ng nangyayari sa atin ngayon ay hindi ba tulong ang kailangan ng tao?

“Ayaw ng tao ng giyera, gulo, baril, at bala. Kailangan ba ulitin ko pa sinabi ko? May masama ba sa sinabi ko? Mali ba 'yun?”

She then added, “Quick to judge? I said na gusto ng tao ng tulong and ayaw ng tao ng gulo lalo na sa mga nangyayari sa atin ngayon. So tell me, may masama ba sa sinabi ko?”

Furthermore, she reiterated that the government should focus on giving more aid to those in need and set politics aside.

In a tweet made earlier today, she wrote the following: “I wish the government (well lalo na ngayon because in times like this) to stay united. There shouldn't be any politics now. I wish the executive and legislative branches can help as many people as they can in a day. I know limited ang movement ng lahat ngayon.

“Pero sana tulungan ang kailangang tulungan wala na sa ibang agenda at pakainin ang kailangang pakainin.

“And sa mga tao, please follow protocol and stay healthy and safe for your families and others as well. If you can help in your community, even in a small way, please do. Even if we cannot feed hundreds of people, at least feed one. Let's just help each other please.”

Although she's made her intentions clear, a few netizens still didn't sit in with her comment.

She exclaimed, “Iisipin ko pa ba 'yun sa panahon na ganito? 'Yung totoo? Even if I don't like what is happening in different areas, I do not wish our current administration to fail especially during this global pandemic.”

“Can we all just help each other now and stop thinking about politics?” she asked.

“If you think my tweet of saying people just want help and ayaw nila ng gulo is twisted, then okay. Please just help people in your community now. Let's just help each other instead of arguing about politics.”

Winwyn Marquez is among the Kapuso stars who are helping to donate her time and energy in her community in averting the coronavirus disease.

She's also opened a GoGetFunding page to raise PhP 150,000 to provide much-needed supplies for healthcare workers in local hospitals within Metro Manila.

So far she's already reached more than PhP 100,000
