The Kapuso all-female group felt emotional about the song and its meaning.
The Kapuso all-female quartet XOXO made Father's Day extra special with their heartwarming cover of the song, “Mapa.”
Originally recorded by the Pinoy pop group SB19, the poignant track's title stands for mama and papa.
Currently, the video of the performance posted on GMA Network's Facebook page has garnered more than a thousand likes, 191 comments, and 205 shares.
The message of the song is not lost on the members of XOXO themselves.
Like the listeners, Riel, Dani, Lyra, and Mel too were moved by the song's meaning and were instantly reminded of their parents while recording the song.

“Behind every achievement are my parents who never gave up on me and my dreams,” an emotional Dani said.
“Forever grateful to my mom and dad for all the life-lessons I have learned through the years, for pushing me to keep going despite the rejections, for telling me to never give up on life's challenges, and for always reminding me to stay grounded and grateful no matter where life takes me.”

Mel, meanwhile, couldn't help but feel grateful for the unconditional love shown to her by both of her parents.

“Ma, Pa, without the inspiration, drive, and support you gave me, I might not be the person that I am today. Thank you for always being there for me. Mahal na mahal ko kayo,” she mused.
