XOXO member Riel wants to be a role model for other girls who don't feel like they fit into society's beauty standards so that she could pave the way for them to share their talents with the world and enter showbiz.
After joining the first season of The Clash way back in 2018, Riel Lomadilla was launched as part of the Kapuso girl group XOXO in August of 2019 together with her co-contestants, Dani Ozaraga, Lyra Micolob, and Mel Caluag.
In Riel's exclusive interview with GMA Music, the up-and-coming Kapuso diva shared that she wants her group, XOXO, to be known for the different flavor they bring to the industry.
According to Riel, "Ako personally, I want XOXO to be known for being different kasi kung titingnan mo kami, iba't iba kami ng personality, iba't iba kami ng genre ng music, iba't iba kami ng body shapes, and iba't iba kami ng skin tone and that's okay kasi 'yun ang beauty ng girl group namin.
"Kahit magkasama kami sa isang grupo, nagsa-shine kami individually. And also we want to be an inspiration to all the girls out there na nangangarap na hindi mo kailangan maging standard ng beautiful to be in a girl group.
"Hindi mo kailangan na maging this certain kind of beautiful para mapakita mo ang talent mo sa buong mundo.
"Being different is okay and being different is a beautiful thing."
Aside from singing and performing together with XOXO, Riel also aims to make a name for herself in terms of acting since it has been a dream of hers ever since she was young. To date, she has appeared in Cain At Abel, The Gift, and Pepito Manaloto.
XOXO just released their self-titled debut single last September 10 on streaming platforms worldwide.
