Yasser Marta won Best Supporting Actor award at the Sinag Maynila 2026
Yasser Marta is enjoying the fruits of his hard work, patience, and diligence after being hailed as the Best Supporting Actor for his role in the movie Desperada at the Sinag Maynila 2026.
The Kapuso actor expressed his excitement for winning the first acting award.
In his acceptance speech, Yasser said, “Ito po ang aking unang parangal bilang isang aktor at gusto ko po lang po pasalamatan 'yung mga taong nagbukas po ng pintuan para sa akin.”
He dedicated his award to late starmaker German “Kuya Germs” Moreno, who discovered him in Nueva Ecija. The industry passed away at the age of 82 in January 2016.
“Unang-una, ang Panginoon at sa lahat ng mga dasal ko lagi mo akong pinakikinggan,maraming-maraming salamat.
"Sa nanay ko, Ma, thank you dahil kung hindi dahil sa'yo hindi ako artista ngayon. Salamat sa pagpilit sa akin na mag-audition noong mga bata pa ako at ito minahal ko na.
"Sa naka-discover sa akin, Kuya Germs. Tay, maraming-maraming salamat na noong nakita mo ako sa Nueva Ecija dinala mo na ako agad sa GMA.
“At hanggang ngayon ayun 'yun na 'yung naging pangalawang tahanan ko, ang GMA Network.”

After winning at the "Spogify" segment in a noontime show, Yasser has been part of several GMA teledramas including, Bilangin ang Bituin sa Langit (2020) and My Ilonggo Girl (2025). He also showcased his comedy skills in the sitcom Daddy's Gurl.
