Yasser Marta shared a sneak peek of his character in the GMA Telebabad series What We Could Be through a set of behind-the-scenes photos he posted on his Instagram account to promote his new show on the day of its launch on Monday, August 29.
Among the photos Yasser, who plays Lucas Relosa in the series, shared is his bathroom selfie showing him topless.
The Kapuso hunk actor caught the attention of veteran actor, Gardo Versoza, who called him 'Machete' in the comments section of his post. Machete, a statue that comes to life, is a fictional character in the late legendary Pinoy novelist Pablo S. Gomez's komiks series.
It was turned into a film in 1990 titled Machete: Istatwang Buhay, starring Cesar Montano in the title role. In 1994, Gardo headlined the sequel of the film where he played David, a struggling husband who tries to make ends meet by posing nude for a female sculptor. When he was murdered, his statue comes to life.
Both movies are branded as sexy films. No doubt why Gardo apparently thinks Yasser has the potential to play Machete in case it will have another spinoff.
It would be remembered that GMA made an adaptation series of Machete in 2011, starring Aljur Abrenica in the title role.
