It's a role he took on early in the summer season, but now Yasser Marta is getting recognized for the work he put into it.

In one of the more recent posts on his Facebook account, Yasser shared that the Philippine Leaf Awards recognized his performance as Jesus Christ during Barangay LNW, Angeles City's Siete Palabras production, with an Outstanding Performance in a Lenten Production award.

In the caption to the post, Yasser expressed his gratitude to the production, cast, and staff of Siete Palabras, as well as everyone who supported and believed in the production.

Yasser took the role of Jesus Christ in Siete Palabras last month. Despite being of Portuguese and Tausug descent, he shared that his Muslim faith is not a barrier to portraying the role. In fact, he revealed that playing Jesus Christ has long been one of his dreams.

"Honored to tell His story. Maraming salamat po," he wrote in the caption of his post.

Yasser can next be seen in “My Heart Belongs To You” of Regal Studios Presents. Yasser stars alongside Sarah Edwards in a unique love story. Yasser plays the role of Jessy, a sweet and caring man who wants to open the heart of Alexa, played by Sarah Edwards.

“My Heart Belongs To You” airs on Regal Studios Presents this Sunday, May 24, at 2 p.m.

He will also be part of the upcoming series Delivery Boi, starring Will Ashley.

When he's not acting, Yasser is an avid mountain climber, having been to Nepal and even planning to eventually climb Mount Everest. Yasser has also made the trip to the Northern Philippines, specifically the areas of Batad and Banaue, and shared photos on his Instagram account.
