Aside from acting, Ysabel Ortega dabbles in many skills like baking.

According to the What We Could Be actress, her love for baking started when her mother, Michelle Ortega, opened her own bakeshop when she was young. Ysabel has found joy in watching her mom baking local pastries like ensaymada and mamon which eventually led her to develop her desire to learn the skill.

While most of Ysabel's baking recipes were inspired by her mom's, the Kapuso star takes pride in making her own recipes by adding a slight twist to them such as of her chocolate chip cookie.

In her YouTube channel, Ysabel shared the secret recipe to her chocolate chip cookie which she said is a "blockbuster" because it was always sold out during their bake sale at school.

In case you want to use her chocolate chip cookie recipe, here is a rundown of the ingredients:

Dry ingredients:
1 & 1/3 cup all-purpose flour

1 tablespoon cornstarch

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 cup white sugar (to be mixed with wet ingredients)
1/2 cup brown sugar (to be mixed with wet ingredients)
1 & 1/2 cup roughly chopped dark chocolate
1 & 1/2 cup roughly chopped macadamia nuts

Wet ingredients:

1/2 cup melted unsalted butter

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 egg


To amplify the chocolate flavor, Ysabel divided her cookie dough in half and added one-third cup of cocoa powder into the other half to make double chocolate chip cookies.
