Newest Kapuso singer Zephanie says her inclusion into the network's roster of stars is a dream come true.
On Thursday, March 31, she was officially launched as part of Sparkle, the network's luminous stable of stars.
"Sobrang mixed emotions po and very overwhelmed and of course I'm really grateful po sa opportunity na naibigay sa'kin, this is really a blessing po and I'm really excited po sa mga tatahakin kong adventures with them," she said.
According to Zephanie, her transfer to GMA was a well thought, just-in-time opportunity that she just could not miss.
Not really an alien in the Kapuso territory, one of the things that further convinced her to finally sign up with the network is because her first-ever experience in the industry was not a singing but an acting job in GMA.
It was then that she had a taste of what it's like to be Kapuso.
"We thought it was a singing contest so I auditioned and it turned out po na teleserye pala siya na tungkol sa contest and mga sumasali sa mga contest na bata. Isa po ako sa mga napili doon na mga bata na kasama ng mga lead roles," she shared.
"Kaya ngayon po, nandito po ako muli sa GMA and as a Kapuso na official na talaga, sobra po akong masaya na makabalik," she added.
According to the 19-year old singer, she will be mainly focusing on her singing but opportunities in dancing, acting, and other areas of performing are very much welcome.
"Right now po singing is still my focus but right now po sa pagtapak ko sa bagong adventure na 'to is kasabay din po ng mga bagong bagay na maita-try ko katulad nga ng acting and iba pa po," she said.
Also, among the many changes noticed by members of the media when she became a Kapuso is her look which showed a more edgy, fashion-forward, and sexy Zephanie.
"I don't think it's just about 'yung paglipat ko sa GMA but personally since I just turned 19 this year, siguro po parte rin ng pag-edad ko din 'yung changes ko sa image and sa kung paano ko po i-pe-present 'yung sarili ko," she explained.
Now that she is set to sparkle with GMA, Zephanie is slated for great projects ahead.
For one, she will surely be part of All-Out Sundays.
She is looking forward to working with Julia Anne San Jose, Lani Misalucha, and Aicelle Santos.
Besides the Kapuso Sunday party, she will also be busy working on other projects.
But if there's one goal Zephanie is bent on pursuing, it is breaking into the international audience.
"So far right now po we're really focused on sa bagong journey na 'to but of course isa po 'yan sa mga goals namin 'yung international stage ulit or international exposure with GMA," she said.
