Zhang Yingfei expresses gratitude for the love she receives as Linda Walker.

Micro-drama icon Zhang Yingfei, better known as Linda Walker, can't help but feel the overwhelming love and support from fans in the Philippines.

The Heiress Who Won With Brains actress happily joined the morning show Unang Hirit for a fun-filled guest appearance on Tuesday, June 9.

From stepping out of her vehicle to entering the studio, the Chinese actress was greeted warmly by fans and staff.

"I'm very happy to be here in the Philippines," she said in Chinese.

With interpreter Candice Tan by her side, Zhang Yingfei also shared her experience in the country so far.

"She's really happy when she came out of the airport, there were so many fans who greeted her. Yesterday, she also toured around Manila. At night, she attended the 50th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and China. She saw so many singing and dancing performances, it was really a very pleasant experience for her," Candice interpreted.

As Linda Walker, the Chinese star, admitted she never expected the character to become so popular and was surprised by how many viewers embraced the role in both China and the Philippines.

"During the Spring Festival in February, she saw on her social media platform that many people had commented on this one. So she was really surprised. She realized that this character really resonated not just in China, but also in the Philippines," Candice said.

When asked whether she sees similarities between herself and Linda, Zhang Yingfei candidly shared how the character has become a part of her.

"As an actress, I really cherish all of my roles. So, I believe that every role will have like a shadow in me. But of course, to be honest, I'm not as smart as Linda Walker. But she really cherishes her roles."

Aside from the heartwarming conversation, the actress also gamely tried adobo, learned a few Tagalog words, and joined a quick "Unang Hirit Quiz Bee."

Of course, the UH Barkada also didn't miss celebrating Zhang Yingfei's upcoming birthday!

Surprising their special guest, the team presented the Chinese actress with a birthday cake, local snacks, and customized gifts.

"Thank you! Thank you so much!" Zhang Yingfei expressed.

With a big smile, the actress shared how excited she is to meet her Filipino fans in her meet-and-greet event on June 10 in Quezon City.

"Tomorrow, we have a meet-and-greet at SM North EDSA, and I hope to see you all there!" she said.

Zhang Yingfei rose to popularity in the Philippines through viral clips of the Chinese vertical drama The Heiress Who Won with Brains.

The series follows Linda Walker, a young woman who overcomes poverty and hardship through intelligence and determination. Its empowering themes and widely shared clips became a hit on social media, creating memes and parodies by netizens.
