OPM icon and actress Zsa Zsa Padilla is on the road to recovery after undergoing a medical procedure in Singapore.
Last August 16, the mother of It's Showtime host Karylle talked intensively about her health condition.
“Last year, the infection I was having was harder to cure. I became resistant to most antibiotics and tests showed that I was already having a (pee) reflux and the function of my left kidney was so much lower than my usual.
“I went to the US in January but was advised not to have surgery. I was disappointed because I didn't know what to do about my problem.
“Six months after, the infections started again, and took 3 weeks for the low dose of antibiotics to kick in. Of course, I was already resistant to most antibiotics and I felt that it was only a “band-aid” to my bigger problem. And honestly, you've noticed the weight gain, right?
"I then thought of Singapore since I heard of people going here for their medical needs, and asked my friend, Alice Eduardo to give me a recommendation. They gave me an office number that's based in Manila. And they coordinated with Doctors who could help me with my problem.”
The Kapamilya diva also shared with her followers and fans that she has a condition called mega ureter where a ureter is bigger than expected.
Yesterday (August 21), Zsa Zsa gave an update on her recovery and assured everyone that she was on the mend.
“Thank you to everyone who sent messages and prayed for my quick recovery. ️
“This was taken a few minutes ago after the clinic took out my catheter. They also took out all of my wound dressing. My doctor asked if I was taking collagen 'coz I healed pretty well. I take a lot of supplements!”
“Everyone seems amazed [at] how I was walking [the] day after the surgery.”
Zsa Zsa also added that she will need to return to Singapore for the DJ stent to be removed and is in high spirits that she will get to return to her normal routine like playing badminton and singing.
According to pristyncare.com, a DJ stent is a thin, flexible plastic tube that is temporarily placed in the ureter to aid urine drainage from the kidney to the bladder in the event of an obstruction.
“My stomach is filled with battle scars (so is my back), but hey, happy to be around and wish to be around for many more years.
“Btw, my Dr told me the procedure done was ROBOTIC LEFT URETERIC REIMPLANTATION & INSERTION OF LEFT DJ STENT. I don't have a rare kidney disease- read it somewhere- so it's not true. I was just born structurally different.”
“[I] Will be back in Singapore at the end of September to have my DJ Stent removed. Then I can go back to moving normally- playing badminton and performing on stage. Take care! Love and light ”
