Gilda Olvidado’s Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita is led by Yasmien Kurdi and JC De Vera together with the country’s most versatile artists like Marvin Agustin, Angelika dela Cruz and seasoned actress Ms. Dina Bonnevie in a very special role.
Under the direction of multi-awarded and well-respected director Joel Lamangan, Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita revolves around Salve (Yasmien Kurdi), a pretty, naïve, young woman, who falls in love with Alfred (Marvin Agustin), an ambitious man who cheats behind her back. Salve doesn’t realize that the reason why Alfred wanted her was because of her inheritance, and he is determined to get it -- at whatever cost. Enter the rich and influential Via (Angelika dela Cruz), the scheming daughter of a politician who also falls in love with Alfred. And with Via, Alfred sees the woman he thinks can help him fulfill his dreams of becoming popular and powerful. When Alfred leaves Salve, the latter becomes devastated. And it is in this state that she crosses paths with Rod (JC De Vera), a good-looking yet hardened gangster, and Evita (Dina Bonnevie), the matriarch of a syndicate and whom Rod considers as his surrogate mother. Both Evita and Rod will help Salve to fight back and avenge against the people who made her life miserable. Will Salve be able to redeem herself from the anguish and agony caused by Alfred’s deception and lies? And can love still find a place in a furious and vindictive heart like Salve’s?
Making the story of Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita more gripping are: Tonton Gutierrez as Jango, the right-hand man of the syndicate who loves Evita; Patrick Garcia as Lawrence, a junior investigator who wants to pin down Evita’s syndicate; Paolo Contis as Tyrone, Jango’s brother who likes Julie; Diana Zubiri as Julie, Evita’s younger sister; Glydel Mercado as Verna, Evita’s arch-nemesis. Also in the cast are Ian De Leon as Melvin, Julie’s childhood friend; Jay Aquitania as Juno, son of Jango and Evita; LJ Reyes as Joey, Rod’s friend who is secretly in love with him; Jenny Miller as Beverly, Alfred’s mistress; and Robert Ortega as Fredo, a member of Evita’s syndicate.

Babangon Ako’t Dudurugin Kita, which was originally created by renowned novelist Gilda Olvidado for Darna Komiks, is one of the masterpieces of the highly-acclaimed director Lino Brocka when it became a blockbuster movie in the later 80’s and even led to the nomination of Sharon Cuneta as Best Actress in 1990 FAMAS awards.
