Actors-comedian Mikoy Morales felt it was a dream, when he finally landed a stint in GMA-7's flagship comedy program Bubble Gang.
Being part of the gag show, which he grew up watching as a kid was a bit intimidating at first. “'Yung first few times na nag-guest ako, it took a while [to adjust].”
Mikoy then continued, “Kapag sumalang ka kasi sa Bubble Gang, lalo na kung ikaw 'yung nanonood nun mula pinapanood n'yo sa bahay n'yo mula pagkabata mo, hanggang ngayon, parang it was quite intimidating. But it took a while to really just know and see how they've been there for so long.”
As the years passed by and as he observed how Bubble Gang is mounted, Mikoy learned that what they do in the show is more than just making people laugh every Friday night.
The Kapuso actor stressed, “Kung paano tumagal dito, kung bakit ganyan 'yung mga tao, what makes Bubble Gang, Bubble Gang? 'Nung nag-start mag-sink in 'yun, nag-start mag-clear 'yun na hindi lang 'to pala basta pagpapatawa, hindi lang 'to basta pagiging technically pasok sa timing. It's way more than that.”
During the virtual media conference with the entertainment press last week, Mikoy couldn't contain his excitement as he talked about what's in store for our Kababol for their grand 25th anniversary presentation.
Mikoy told the press, “Ang naging challenge dito, talagang na-test kung ano pa 'yung kaya namin ibigay sa show. Considering the circumstances and then the situation. Plus 'yun nga to carry the pressure na 25th year 'to na, Hello!
The show's silver anniversary tonight is a lot more meaningful as the whole cast also remember the life and legacy of their late director Bert de Leon.
Mikoy took to Instagram to pay tribute to Sir Bert, whom he fondly calls “Rekdi.”
You were never short of stories and lessons, and never held back to make someone believe in his/her self a little more. Mamimiss kita, Rekdi.
