Just days before Centerstage's national premiere, Asia's Multimedia Star Alden Richards admitted that he feels the pressure of hosting the newest and original musical reality show of GMA Network.
“Sobrang nae-excite po ako dito kasi sobrang mahilig po ako sa bata and hosting at the same time parang isa sa mga bagay na kumportable akong gawin," he said in a recent interview.
“Kaya nu'ng this was offered to me, siyempre may pressure kasi it's the first time I'm going to be a main host of a contest. Kaya I took this challenge kasi para atleast my growth naman, maka-explore naman tayo ng ibang anggulo ng puwedeng gawin.”
The Centerstage host also shared that he did not have second thoughts about accepting the project.
“Kaya when this was given to me, no second thoughts about this project kasi first, it's a singing contest at the same time it's new. It's an original concept of GMA which I'm very proud of tsaka kasama mga bata. 'Yun 'yung facts na nagpa-oo sa 'kin sa project na 'to,” he added.
Meanwhile, Concert Queen Pops Fernandez, Kapuso vocal powerhouse Aicelle Santos, and renowned musical director Mel Villena are set to screen the talented kids joining Centerstage.
Comedian Betong Sumaya will serve as the journey host.
Centerstage is a singing competition that will feature kids aged 12 and under who will try to outshine one another in order to take and defend their place on the center stage.
Centerstage will premiere on GMA Primetime on February 16.
