"It's a prank."

Viewers were both surprised and thrilled over the episode of Centerstage last Sunday, May 30.

The GMA kiddie singing competition was supposed to crown its grand champion yesterday but left its viewers with a cliffhanger after Centerstage host Alden Richards suspended the announcement of the top two finalists who will battle it out in the ultimate finale round.

This made the episode a talked-about story on Twitter, hitting the third spot in the top trending topics yesterday.

The second part of the grand finals, where the winner will be announced, will happen next Sunday, June 6.

One netizen tweeted, "'Yong pigil hininga ka sa paghihintay ng resulta, next week pa pala...pero, thank you at may aabangan pa kami sa Sunday."

One Twitter user even hoped that Centerstage will have a season two, saying "Ang saya na may aabangan pa kami next week :) ~ Hoping For Season 2, po."

Last episode, fiinalists Rain Barquin, Colline Salazar, Vianna Ricafranca, and Oxy Dolorito performed a sing-off of Ted Ito's "Maghintay Ka Lamang" virtually in the first round titled "Isang Kanta Apat na Bida."

This was an exciting round for the young singers as they sang individually from the safety and comfort of their homes without hearing each others' performances.

"Hindi po nagkita ang ating apat na finalists because they sang from their homes, so 'yun 'yung exciting part do'n. They sang, they did their own version in that particular song without seeing each other. So most probably ngayon lang din nila napapnood ang sarili nila na magkakasama," said one of the Centerstage judges, Pops Fernandez, who evaluated the finalists from the studio.

In round two "Bida Soloista," this was the time when Rain, Colline, Vianna, and Oxy performed individual songs.

According to "Bida Voters" The Clash champions Golden Cañedo, Jeremiah Tiangco, and Jessica Villarubin, the finalists can even compete in The Clash because of their impressive vocal range.

Centerstage will give over PhP 2.5 million worth of prizes to all the grand finalists.

Each grand finalist will receive a cash prize and a special gift from Centerstage. The grand winner will also receive a house and lot from Bria Homes.
