Kapuso primetime actress Carla Abellana will be doing a genre close to her heart in the special comeback presentation of the award-winning children's fantasy series Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko this November.

Carla will be part of the stellar cast of the "Game Over" story together with Sparkle talents Althea Ablan, Cassy Legaspi, Matt Lozano, Will Ashley and her former To Have And To Hold co-star Luis Hontiveros.

She will portray the role of Nurse Lorraine in this project.

In her exclusive chat with the members of the entertainment press today (October 28), the TV actress talked about her experience working with Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko director Rico Gutierrez.

Carla lauded Direk Rico for being meticulous and hands-on in every step of the way during their shoot.

“It's very fun to work with Direk Rico Gutierrez, very different po ito from the first time we worked together.

“First time ko mag-guest sa Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko, I played an Easter Bunny. Ngayon talagang action-packed na, siyempre darker, mas nakakatakot.”

She continued, “Always a pleasure, kasi 'yun ang forte ni Direk Rico. Palakpakan natin ang show ng Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko, napakadami na pong awards, airing, running for the longest time. So he allows you to play, pero magaling siya. Tutok po siya, hindi lang sa mga shots or angles or lighting.

“Pero, ultimo pati action involved siya. In all aspects involved po si Direk Rico, so 'yun 'yung maganda.”

In addition, she was also thoroughly impressed with all the people behind the show for their collective effort in producing an entertaining episode.

Carla noted, “And parang po kaming hindi nagtrabaho lang talaga, hindi lang po because of Direk Rico, but because of the writers. But everyone, ultimo 'yung aming fight director, mga stuntman, kada talents were amazing.

“Yung gumawa po ng prosthetics, napakahusay. Ang galing! Talagang collective effort and again parang hindi po kami nagtrabaho.”

Season Break

A lot of loyal viewers missed watching Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko every Sunday night after the show took a two-month season break after airing the "MadalDolls" story last August.

According to GMA Entertainment Group AVP for Drama Ali Marie Nokom-Dedicatoria, the season break worked wonders and allowed the production team of Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko to improve the quality of the episode, especially in terms of the special effects.

Ms. Ali shared, “'Yung season break, actually mas nakatulong siya doon sa mga CGI namin. Kung manonood kayo sa November 6 makikita n'yo na talaga nag-improve 'yung CGI, kasi itong mga special effects, mas maganda ito 'pag pinaglaanan ng time.

“But this one, level-up talaga si Direk Rico. 'Yun po 'yung nakatulong because we have two months na break.

“This one, dahil we have enough time, talagang napaganda namin 'yung 'Game Over.'”
