Chef JR Royol is a passionate food explorer

Meet Chef JR Royol, ang Bicolano-Igorot chef na bida sa cooking show ng GTV na 'Farm to Table.'
Si Chef JR ay ang food explorer ng GTV na nagpapakita ng kanyang husay pagdating sa farm-to-table cooking.
Bago pa man siya makuha bilang host sa GMA, nakilala na si Chef JR bilang isang executive chef sa isang hotel at bilang grand winner ng isang reality cooking show.
Ang host ng 'Farm to Table' ay naging representative ng Pilipinas para sa iba't ibang food festivals sa ibang bansa. Isa sa mga ito ay ang 116th Independence Day celebration sa Kobe, Japan noong 2014. Nasaksihan din ang husay ni Chef JR sa 121st Philippine Independence Day Celebration sa Yangon, Myanmar noong June 2019. Samantala, naging guest chef din siya sa Sule Shangri-La, Yangon para sa isang Filipino Food Festival noong June 2020.
Ayon sa bagong Kapuso chef, ang kanyang kaalaman sa Filipino cuisine at farm to table concept ay isa lamang sa mga dahilan kung bakit siya napili na maging host ng 'Farm to Table.'
“I think I was one of the few Executive Chefs in the country who really exerted effort to embody the Farm-to-Table concept in our menu. Hydroponically-grown lettuces and herbs were served on their growing mediums and I let guests cut their own greens and tea. Kitchen scraps were religiously segregated and brought to my vermiculture farm for future use as organic fertilizers. Even when I represent our country in different international events, I always carry the pride of a Filipino-Farmer-Chef.”
