A new partnership has been made as GMA and ABS-CBN formally sealed the deal between 'It's Showtime' and GTV.

A new historic moment in Philippine television has been made as GMA Network and ABS-CBN inked a deal for the airing of the longest-running noontime variety show of the Kapamilya network, It's Showtime, on GMA's second free-to-air channel, GTV.

The two television networks sealed the deal in a contract signing ceremony today (June 28) at Seda Hotel, Vertis North, in Quezon City.

Present during the momentous event were GMA Network Chairman Atty. Felipe L. Gozon, Senior Vice President for Programming, Talent Management, Worldwide, and Support Group, and President and CEO of GMA Films Atty. Annette Gozon-Valdes, President and COO Jimmy Duavit Jr., and Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer Felipe S. Yalong as well as executives from ABS-CBN, namely, ABS-CBN's President and CEO Carlo L. Katigbak, Chairman Mark L. Lopez, COO for Broadcast Cory Vidanes, and Officer-in-Charge of Finance Group Paul Piedad.

Atty. Gozon expressed his gratitude to the executives of ABS-CBN for choosing GTV as the new home for It's Showtime.

“Gusto kong sabihin sa pagkakataong ito, kung hindi ko pa nasasabi before, na malugod naming tinatanggap ang popular program na It's Showtime.

“Nagagalak din kami na pinili ng ABS-CBN na ilipat ang programang ito sa GTV. Sa aming pananaw, ang pinagsamang skills, expertise, experience, and resources ng ABS at GMA can be characterized as very formidable,” he said.

On the other hand, Katigbak said that he didn't expect that the agreement between the two media giants would happen fast. He also thanked GMA's top executives for welcoming their noontime variety program.

“Pagkatapos po namin i-launch ang Unbreak My Heart, hindi po namin naisip na magkakaroon ng kasunod na agad ang aming partnership with GMA. So nu'ng nabalitaan namin na gustong ilipat ang timeslot ng It's Showtime, tinawagan namin si Annette para pag-usapan ang posibilidad na mabigyan ng bagong tahanan ang aming programa. After that, in just less than two weeks, we were again welcomed to [GMA].

“Kaya marami pong salamat, Atty. [Felipe] Gozon, Annette, Jimmy, Philip, at sa aming Kapuso sa pagtanggap ninyo sa [It's] Showtime at sa pagyakap niyong muli sa ABS-CBN,” he shared.

Also in attendance during the momentous event were It's Showtime hosts Vice Ganda, Anne Curtis, Jhong Hilario, Kim Chiu, Amy Perez, Teddy Corpuz, Jugs Jugueta, Ryan Bang, Ion Perez, MC, Lassy, Jackie Gonzaga, and Cianne Dominguez, who were all clad in their stylish formal wear.

Catch It's Showtime, every Monday to Saturday, at 12 noon on GTV.
