Gabbi Garcia and Khalil Ramos

Kapuso actress Gabbi Garcia on working with boyfriend Khalil Ramos: "Talagang we didn't want to work with each other."

Kapuso host Gabbi Garcia opened up about working with her real-life boyfriend Khalil Ramos and how they didn't want to work with each other when they first started dating in 2017.

Then, Gabbi and Khalil were both already in showbiz but were working in different networks and projects, which actually worked to their favor.

"At first honestly kami ni Khalil iniiwasan din namin na magka-work kami in our earlier stages of our relationship. Talagang we didn't want to work with each other," Gabbi said, during her online media conference for In Real Life.

As their relationship progressed, the two became more comfortable with the idea of being paired with each other and becoming more public about their relationship. Khalil and Gabbi starred in the 2019 movie LSS as Zack and Sarah.

"Pero siguro as we grew [in] our relationship, natutunan namin how to manage it, siguro by keeping boundaries when it comes to personal life and work. Dapat alam mo
'yung pino-protektahan mong privacy sa trabaho at sa inyong relationship and to just know when to protect that privacy."

Opportunities for the couple to work together are now more possible because Khalil is officially a Kapuso after signing a contract with GMA Artist Center in October 2020.

Gabbi shared how Khalil feels about being in the Kapuso Network. She said, "Lagi siya nagku-kuwento sa akin na napakainit ng tanggap sa kaniya ng GMA, and he's just so grateful sa lahat dahil ang babait daw ng mga tao sa kaniya. It's like being new again in show business kasi kahit nine years na siya sa industriya, meeting new people parang bago ulit siya. It's nice kasi lahat mababait daw talagang [sa] Kapuso Network sabi niya."
