Ipinagdidiriwang ng real life drama anthology na Magpakailanman ang 23rd anniversary nito ngayong taon.

Proud ang host nitong si veteran broadcast journalist Mel Tiangco sa milestone na ito kaya lubos ang pasasalamat niya sa Diyos, sa GMA Network, at maging sa advertisers na nagtitiwala sa programa.

Bukod dito, malaking factor din daw sa pagtatagal ng Magpakailanman sa telebisyon ang pangmamahal at pagtangkilik ng mga manonood.

"I'd like to think it is because the televiewers see that Magpakailanman loves them," pahayag ni Tita Mel sa isang intimate media conference.

"Nakikita nila that this is the show that is really for them, that is really after what is good for them. This is the show that really gives them inspiration. It is the show that is really true, that has the credibility, that does not exploit," dagdag niya.

Ikinumpara din ni Tita Mel ang serye sa isang taong may malasakit sa kanyang kapwa.

"Hindi siya 'yung nagyayabang lang. If Magpakailanman was a human being, Magpakailanman loves them (viewers) truly," paglalarawan niya dito.

Ito rin daw ang dahilan kung bakit naging habit na mga manonood na tumutok sa programa.

"When our time comes, 8:15 p.m. every Saturday, they tune in. Automatic! Automatic, they tune in to Magpakailanmaan," sambit ni TIta Mel.

Hindi na rin niya pinalampas na pasalamatan ang mga ito para sa suportang patuloy na natatanggap ng Magpakailanman.

"It has become a habit after all these years for our televiewers and that is what I am thankful for from my heart," aniya.
