Kapuso Primetime Princess Barbie Forteza said that after portraying the role of Klay in the hit fantasy-portal series Maria Clara at Ibarra, she has become more mindful about the roles she will accept in the future.
In an interview on Mornings with GMA Regional TV, Barbie said that playing the role of Klay made a huge impact on her and her decisions when it comes to accepting roles offered to her.
“After portraying the role of Klay, I have become braver and I have become smarter I guess, in accepting work,” she added.
The Kapuso actress explained that her being mindful comes not only from her maturity but also from considering her health.
“Not only because nag mature ako but also, as I get older, kailangan ko na rin isipin like healthwise, ganyan,” she said.
She added, “Siyempre, hindi naman na tayo bumabata so medyo napapansin ko medyo mabilis na mapagod. Yung mga recent locations namin na bundok? Medyo masakit na sa legs pag akyat-baba, tapos ang lamig.”
Barbie also admitted that playing the character of Klay taught her the most lessons in life and expressed how she would admire the character if there was a real person like her.
“I would really admire her kasi ang tatag talaga ng puso niya. I mean, having been experienced a lot of things inside Noli and El Fili, naging totoong tao pa rin siya outside of that and na keep niya yung principles niya, yung values niya as a person, as a daughter,” she said.
She also stressed, “Sobrang buo ang puso niya, ang loob niya, so I really like - I admire Klay.”
Klay is a Gen Z student who was transported to the world of Noli Me Tangere written by Doctor Jose Rizal and has met the characters such as Crisostomo Ibarra (Dennis Trillo), Maria Clara (Julie Anne San Jose), Padre Salvi (Juancho Trivino), among others who changed her outlook in life.
