Sanya Lopez

Compared to doing heavy action scenes, Sanya Lopez feels that learning the languages in 'Mga Lihim ni Urduja' is more challenging.

GMA's newest fantasy action series Mga Lihim ni Urduja is not only known for its beautiful and well-choreographed fight scenes but also the several languages used in the series. Its star, Sanya Lopez, who plays Urduja, admitted that it's actually harder to learn different languages than doing the fight scenes.

“Mas mahirap yung aralin e, 'yung language talaga 'yung mas mahirap. Mas okey pa 'ko sipain na lang,” Sanya said in her interview with Nelson Canlas for Chika Minute.

Some of her co-stars agree with her, like Yasser Marta, who plays Ibn Battuta, who speaks Arabic, and Rodjun Cruz, who plays the role of Min Feng, who speaks Chinese. Sanya, meanwhile, speaks both languages in the series, in addition to traditional Tagalog and Mongolian.

“Isa 'yun sa mga nakakaubos ng oras talaga namin, 'yung pagmememorize ng lines, and s'yempre, hindi rin biro,” Yasser said in the same interview.

Rodjun also said, “Kapag walang taping, inaaral ko mabuti and 'yung coach ko, sinesendan niya 'ko ng videos.”

Sanya, as well as co-star Rochelle Pangilinan, who plays the role of Dayang Salaknib, also revealed that they would sometimes get injured, but that they wouldn't mind it anymore.

“'Yung sipa kanina, naging totoo. Okey naman ako, tuloy lang. Minsan gusto ko 'yung tinatamaan para hindi ka nauuna ('yung reaction),” Sanya said.

She even mentioned that a previous knee injury has recurred because of the extensive training and action scenes they've been doing.

“Nawala na siya before pero bumabalik siya kasi syempre marami tayong mga eksena, marami tayong mga fight scenes, so sabi ko, 'Konting tiis lang, fight pa rin dapat,'” she said.

Rochelle Pangilinan, meanwhile, was able to use her background in dance when she was a member of The SexBomb Girls to memorize their fight choreography.

“Sa pagsasayaw, nagkakabisa ka ng steps. Ganun din siguro sa mga routine dito, yun nakakatulong, tsaka yung timing, so mas madali mo siya makakabisado kesa wala kang ganung background,” she said.
