Veteran actor Spanky Manikan, who currently plays Mr. Jang in the Philippine version of My Love From The Star, will no longer continue taping for the said show due to health reasons. The 75-year-old actor will be replaced by another actor, Crispin Pineda.

Manikan was said to have been waiting for this project, and even rejected other offers to play the role. The My Love From The Star team confirms that "Tito Spanky" was really happy to be a part of the show.

Playing the role of Matteo's best friend, Spanky is also said to have taken a liking to Gil Cuerva, the actor portraying Matteo.

Gil and the fans of the show also wish the Filipino "Mr. Jang" to recover soon.
